Well it has been a crazy year with little time do update things like this but I decided to make time to do it. Easter was fun and enjoyable. Lauren is now 8 1/2 months old, Sydney is 4 and Mary Frances is 6. Wow, what a hand full they are but I love to be home with them on my days off which right now are Tues and Friday. I am working hard and long hours, and I was in charge of the yearbook at mary's school. The yearbook is finished so now I have a little more time.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was of course wild and crazy as usual at the Cowan household. We were blessed to have both Corbin and my families in town and joined them all together for one big dinner. We were a little under the weather but still enjoyed the wonderful weather and the kids had a ball getting to play with each other.

In the midst of Thanksgiving Sydney had her 4th bday so we celebrated a couple times with friends and family.

We got the Frederick family all together to take family pics and the kids were surprisingly fairly good.

The girls got the jeep stuck and Kenton being the big man that he is tried to pull them out.

We of course had 2 dogs grace out Thanksgiving this year, Cooper and Maia.

Okay, so I don't know how all of you keep up with your blogs. I have been in a whirlwind ever since I started back at work about 6 weeks ago. I am now working 3 days a week and my personal and family life have been left in the dust. I am just not quite adjusted yet and trying to make sense of all the chaos. Ok so I know I always update numerous events at once. I feel like I never have time to update my blog. The girls were playing in the playroom so I thought I was safe but not with my girls. I turn around and Mary Frances has no clothes on and wants her bathing suit on and Sydney my potty trained 3.5 year old has a diaper on and is pretending to be a baby. Life in this house is crazy and maybe that is why I am crazy. I am too tired at night to be on the computer and during the day unless my kids are locked in a room I can't take my eyes off them for more than a few minutes. This morning Sydney got into all my lipsticks. Fun, huh? Corbin has been working late every night so it is me and the girls. Any tips on how to keep them out of trouble?

First Day of Kindergarten

So today was the first day of kindergarten. Mary Frances has been so excited for weeks. I have been excited also. She is SOOOOO ready for school and to have some structure in her life, which I have not provided this summer. She decided to wear this outfit even though it is summer but her Grandma Francie got it for her this past week when she was here. She is in Ms. Wilson's class at Charles Haskell and is in afternoon kindergarten. Corbin met us there and we dropped her off along with the other hundred kids that were there. The school seems so big. When I picked her up she said she enjoyed it but seemed glad that we were there to get her.

Sister Sydney is sad she is not in school. She is stuck at home with mom and baby.

Ellen and Mary Frances are finally in school together and they got different teachers. I think this is good though cuz they will make other friends. Mary Frances is still wishing she was in class with Ellen.

So I know many of you are wanting some updated pics of Lauren. I haven't taken as many of her as I did of the other two. Life is crazy with 3 and I rarely get a moment alone with Lauren. These are pics I took today when she was trying to fall asleep on my bed. We are glad she likes the pacifier cuz our other 2 did not. Sorry to those who have not seen her yet. Those of you who know me know I am a germaphobe and I have tried to limit the visits, but I am feeling great and she is doing great. Nights are still rough but I cherish every moment since I know she is my last. I love to hold her and just look at her. Today I actually got to pick out her outfit but usually Sydney and Mary Frances fight over what out she is going to wear.

Anniversary

So we have been married 8 years this past August 4th. With a new baby at home our options were limited to what we could do but thanks to my parents who watched all the girls Corbin and I got to go out to eat at Mahagony. We had a wonderful time just the two of us(WITH NO KIDS!!!)

Since we have been married 8 years I decided to write 8 things I love about my husband.

1. He is the most compassionate man I know

2. He always thinks I am sexy even when I know I am not

3. He is a hard worker and good provider for his family

4. He loves our girls

5. He has a wonderful spiritual side that grows stronger each year

6. He loves to travel and eat at wonderful restaurants

7. He is a wonderful cook

8. He knows our to calm our kids down when I am about to pull out my hair

So here's the story. I went to see my doctor Tuesday July 21st and she told me she would be gone all weekend and if I went into labor her dad would deliver the baby. I started to cry. I just knew I would have this little baby by now but no such luck. So Wednesday morning the girls and I are at home as usual and my doctor calls and says head up to the hospital and get induced. I was both excited and scared. I had never had to be induced before and was hoping to go on my own but excited to get the baby here and have my doctor deliver her.

Well this past weekend we spent the weekend in Branson with Corbin's family.The girls had a blast with their cousins and in my very pregnant condition their dad got to do a lot with them when he was not reading his book. The condo had these wonderful big rocks outside that the girls were magnetized too so of course I spent most my time watching to make sure they didn't fall off of them.

The first night all the girls got in their new nightgowns Grandma Birdie had gotten them. They all got to sleep downstairs in the living room of the condo.

Corbin, Mary Frances and Sydney got to ride water bumper cars.

Grandma Carol and JR took all the grandkids to Noahs Ark and supposedly it was amazing.

My life and pregnancy

Well for those of you who don't know I am now almost 28 weeks pregnant. We have several u/s and they tell us each time that it is a girl. This pregnancy is kicking my butt. It must be my age or maybe that I have a 3 & 5 year old at home and am now working 2 days a week. I am blessed to be having another and this should be our last.

I have updated my blog finally and hope you all enjoy looking at the events of our life. Life is crazy but I think I schedule it that way. We are so blessed with wonderful friends and family and 2 beautiful, healthy girls. They make me crazy sometimes but each night as I see them sleeping I thank Heavenly Father for the wonderful gift they are in my life.

Mary Frances lost first tooth

Well Mary Frances came home the other day and told me her tooth was loose. I couldn't believe she was old enough to loose her tooth.

I was too squeamish to pull it so Corbin got some floss and tried to yank it out and finally got it out. He wondered how I could work in surgery and not pull my own child's tooth, but it is way different when it is your own child.

Here is Mary Frances with her tooth gone and she could hardly sleep that night knowing that the tooth fairy was coming. The tooth fairy told me to account for inflation she needed to get $5. What a generous tooth fairy!!!!!!

It snowed while Sarah was here and the girls got out and played in it, while Corbin pushed them in the jeep.

Well we haven't seen Sarah since November and she came to visit about a month ago. The girls love it when she comes and so do I. She is always so much fun and always a kid at heart even though she is almost 30 now. We love her.

Kindergarten enrollment

So my friend Tori and I went to enroll the girls for kindergarten. I have been so excited to have Mary Frances in school and yet when we went I was sad that my oldest is so grown up. She will start school in the Fall at Charles Haskell and be with her best friend Ellen.

Sydney was with us also and wanted to go to school also, but she still has 2 years.

Well I am finally updating by blog. This is our trip to Colorado last November. It snowed one day and then was in the 60's and 70's the rest of the time. Mary Frances had a ball playing in the snow.

The guys played basketball outside it was so nice.

We had a princess b-day party and had a blast with her cousins, Jake, Zak and Derek. She also got to spend time with Grandma Mary Frances and papa Gary, Aunt Carson and Uncle Mike.

We got to go to Corbin's old stomping grounds, "CU" and watch them play OSU in football.

Sydney has Surgery

Well Sydney has needed her tonsils out for awhile so we finally scheduled surgery. I was a basket case until Sydney and I got blessings. I felt more calm. Her surgery was at 7:30am which meant we had to be there at 5:30am. I got Sydney up and thought she would be cranky but she was so happy and excited to go. We waited around in the waiting room forever and my mom stopped by and brought her this barbie that sings so it is about 6:30am and we are so loud playing Barbie Diamond Castle which Sydney continued to play until she went back for surgery.

Here Aunt Sandy and Sydney are in the children's playroom which had movies and puzzles and toys. We would drag Sydney's IV pole down there frequently over the 10 hours we were there.

Mary Frances was so excited to see Sydney. She said to me " mama next Halloween I am going to have surgery and get presents".

Halloween at Gallardia

We went to a Halloween party at Gallardia. They had a pumpkin patch for the girls to pick their pumpkins and then they got to decorate them. We ate and danced. The girls love the dancing.

Sydney found a friend "Snow White". Sydney is into princesses and just loved this little girl who was the daughter of a couple we had had dinner with at a birthday party the week before.

The girls love to hang out together now and are at a cute age.

Fall Festival

Every year our ward at church has a fall festival. This year they went all out and the girls had a ball.

This is Bro Burk. I didn't even recognize him in his motorcycle gear. I was like who is this guy giving my girls candy. Good costume!!!

The girls were not shy about getting into their candy and eating as much of it as they could while I loaded the car.

Well we love fall and one of our favorite parts is taking the girls to the pumpkin patch. We decided to go to Parkhurst Pumpkin patch out in Arcadia. We had the whole place practically to ourselves. It was great.

Sydney usually doesn't like to get her hands dirty but she loved feeding the animals.

Our infamous hot tub. We had this in Colorado and Corbin used it all the time so we paid to have it towed to Oklahoma when we moved back. When Mary Frances was little she called this her pool. Our girls would not swim in cold water for a long time. They love to get in it at night with Corbin and I.

Well I took this picture with our underwater disposable camera. Mary Frances swam all summer at a pool and would hardly ever go underwater. Now summer is over and we were in the hot tub and she decides she wants to go underwater and start swimming.

San Antonio

Well we decided to go down to San Antonio for vacation with the girls. We figured it would be a good trip since it is only 8 hr drive. Little did we know that with our family it would take and 11hrs and we would be going on the weekend of Hurricane Ike. Everybody thought we would get rained out but it was the most beautiful weather and we had a blast.

I am not sure who Sydney learned this pose from but she looks like a teenager and she is only 2. We have our hands full.

We had our own hammock and cabana at the lazy river at the resort but only spent a few moments there because the girls wanted to be on the beach and in the water the whole time.

We got to watch a 3D pirate movie and the chairs in front of us sprayed water at us. Mary Frances was enjoying her glasses.

Tori and I took the girls to the Childrens Museum at the end of Summer in Seminole. There was a bubble man there who was performing with bubbles. The girls rode the train, shopped, dug for dinosaur bones and had a ball.

7th Anniversary

This year was on August 4th was our 7th anniversary. In some ways it seems much shorter and in some longer. Corbin planned a wonderful trip to Beaver Creek Colorado for our anniversary. We flew into Denver and ate at his favorite restaurant "The Rio" and stayed in Downtown Denver that night. We then drove up to the mountains to ride horses. Our guide was this 19 year old that had never seen "The Man from Snowy River". I was feeling pretty old. We then drove up to Beaver Creek to stay and it was absolutely gorgeous.

This was on our wedding day and I was quite a bit thinner back then.

This hot summer we spent many hours at the OKC omniplex and science museum. My girls love it and love to meet friends there. Amy is one of my friends who I work with and her daughter Mary Kate is about 2 weeks younger than Mary Frances. Her husband Kyle will be back from war in a couple weeks. We love to get together with them when we get the chance.

Another June event was my cousin Amber's wedding. We had a shower at my house the weekend before with her mom, mother-in-law, my mom, and several friends. The family BBQ was the next Saturday at our house where friends and family could relax, talk, and play. Amber and Travis got married Sunday June 22nd and my daughter Mary Frances got to be the flower girl. The wedding was beautiful.

Mary France had a ball being the flower girl, she felt so special.

At the BBQ, all the kids had a blast throwing waterballoons, getting wet, sliding, and blowing bubbles. Ashley's kids seem to be having the most fun and showed everyone else how to stay cool in Oklahoma.

Fourth of July

This year I was partied out after the month of June so we did something small for the fourth of July. We went to a BBQ at the Gallardia pool during the day with our friends, the Coons and that night we watched fireworks from our backyard just Corbin, myself and the girls. It was definately the most relaxing fourth of July I have ever had.

Everytime Sydney would see the fireworks she would say, WOOOOW!!!!

As you can tell I was fading and my waterproof mascara I had put on earlier was truly waterproof.

Mary Frances wanted to camp out in the back yard. I had to convince her it was too hot and we were all sleeping inside.

Mary France and Sydney had stuffed the tent full of blankets, animals, dolls, and pillows. I am not sure how they fit in there also.

Well we started Mary Frances in karate about 6 months ago and she first had a white belt then graduated to a orange belt and then this past month received her yellow belt.

I am not sure who was more excited to get the yellow belt Mary Frances or Sydney. Sydney was so excited for her sister she decided to join her up front.

This year Corbin turned 33 y/0. Every year we have a big birthday party for him and this year was no exception. We got his favorite Baskin Robbin ice scream cake, mint chocolate chip ice scream with chocolate cake. Corbin is the best cook so he made homemade salsa and grilled burgers and hot dogs.

Cowan Family Visit

This June at the Cowan house has definately been eventful. Corbin invited his dad to play in a golf tournament at Gallardia with him so Gary and Mary Frances decided they would come spend a week here in OK. The next thing we know Cullen is flying in and Carson decided to make the long trek with her 3 boys from Colorado. Everyone was here for about a week and we had events everyday. All the cousins got to play and have a ball with each other.

The girls decided to make their own water slide!!!

I think one of the best days was taking all the kids to the pool and watching Cullen, Carson and Corbin compete on the diving board. They were practically daring each other to do front and back flips, 1 1/2, and as you can see Cullen below, cannonballs!!!

We took all the kids to the omniplex one day and no one wanted to leave. They all had a wonderful time watching the stars, painting there faces, talking on telephones, and playing with science stuff.

This year for Memorial Day we made the drive up to Kansas City to meet Corbin's brother Carter and his family at the Great Wolf Lodge. The girls had a blast swimming, going to water slides, eating at T-Rex restaurant, jumping on the bunk beds in the hotel room, and playing with their cousins; Elliott, Gwynie, and Maddie.

Mother's Day

This year for Mother's Day Sarah flew in for the weekend. It was a great Mother's Day. The girls, with the help of Corbin got me a gift card to landscape the house. What a wonderful opportunity to celebrate mother's.

This year we had everyone over to our house. I was a little nervous at first knowing we were feeding 28 people but of course I set the tables and provided the house and the moms did the rest. It turned out perfect and all the kids had a great time hunting Easter eggs and playing inside and out. We miss our family who couldn't be here with us. We were delighted to share scriptures of Christ and FOOD with our family and friends. Happy Easter!!!

We just wanted to send our love this Easter season. It is a time to reflect on Christ and be thankful for family and friends. I took some pics of the girls last Sunday which I thought were absolutely adorable. We love you.

North Carolina

We had the opportunity to visit my brother's family in North Carolina about a week ago. We were able to attend my niece, Kaelyn's, baptism into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and also be there for the blessing of my new niece Maia. We stayed in a hotel where Mary Frances favorite thing was the pull out couch which made into a bed. The girls got to hang out with their cousins Kaelyn, Kenton, and Emma and just look at new 1 wk old Maia. They got to swim in the hotel pool, play outside on the swingset, go to a Science Museum in Greensboro, watch the Bee movie, and go to several malls. The girls even got to sleep in the same bed since Sydney would not stay in her port a crib. Sydney and Mary Frances definately had a great time. We were able to see Corbin's cousin Johnna and her daughter Christiana in Durham and it was wonderful to see Justin and Katie and their kids.

Mary Frances seems to alway have several bday parties so of course we had to have one back in Oklahoma with her friends here. She wanted a Littlest Pet Shop party and we decided to do it at Oklahoma Gold Gymnastics. She had Sariah, Rachel, Ellen, Danica, Haley, Brooklyn, Nicole and Sydney as her guests. The kids had such a blast they had no desire to stop for food or cake. Mary Frances had a blast and her favorite thing was the trampoline.

Mary Frances bday in Colorado

We spent about a week in Colorado visiting family and friends in January. We got to see the Hesters new home, celebrate Mary Frances bday with Grandma Francie at Chuck-e-cheese, go to walking with the dinosaurs and see a few friends. We loved the visit and getting to see family which we hadn't seen in several months. The girls loved playing with their cousins in their beautiful, big home. It was actually nice weather while we were there so no snow to play in but we were glad for the good weather.

Christmas 2007

This year we stayed here in Oklahoma and ate for two days straight. Christmas Eve we had lunch at the Fredericks with the missionaries, Grandpa Trumper, Amber, Travis, Sandra, Rebecca, Sherry, Susan, Mary Alice, Charles, Corbin, Mary Frances, Sydney and myself. The food was plentiful and wonderful and we enjoyed being around family and friends. We missed Sarah and Justin's family. Later that evening we went over to Ross and LaVerda's for dinner with Aunt Dale, Cade, Crista, Kevin, Nicole, Brooklyn, Janie & David Ware, Grandma Carol and JR, Todd, Stephanie, Josh and Brianna. We ate, read a Christmas story about Christ and opened presents. The house was full of kids enjoying each other.

Christmas day my girls had to be woken up to see what Santa had brought them and then they were so overwhelmed they just sat and stared at the presents. My parents were over early to enjoy the girls. Sydney and Mary Frances enjoyed their gifts from everyone. Cade dropped by as well as Ross and Laverda. We later went for lunch at Carol and JR's and saw Carter, Robyn and the kids. We then had not had enough to eat and went to dinner at Christa and Kevin's.

We missed Carson, Mike and the kids, Mary Frances and Gary and Justin, Katie and the kids and of course Sarah and Cullen. We wish everyone a merry Christmas.

Thanksgiving

This year Mary Frances and Gary drove down from Colorado to spend Thanksgiving with the Oklahoman Cowans. We had dinner in Tulsa at Carter and Robyn's. Everything was wonderful. The guys enjoyed watching football, the kids played and the women enjoyed talking.

Beaver Creek Colorado

Corbin is a wonderful husband and set a spa weekend for me and a friend in Beaver Creek Colorado. I took my mom for her birthday and we had the most relaxing weekend. We exercised, shopped, ate and spent half a day at the spa. We loved the scenery, absolutely beautiful.

This year Sydney turned two. I don't think she understood it was her birthday just loved all the gifts. She is very into dolls so she received dolls, stroller, bed, and accessories for dolls.

This year we went to TG's pumpkin patch. We went early so there would be lots of pumpkins. We had the whole place to ourselves. Mary Frances favorite part was the hay maze and Sydney loves sliding and swinging. Overall we had a ball and had a hayride at the end.
